DECEMBER 24
8:00 Up and around. A nice lazy morning.
9:30 Naomi and I finish up a few Christmas gifts, Eyan is outside playing. It's snowing.
11:00 Martin takes little boys to pick up any boxes that may have come in
12:00 Shovel the sidewalk
1:30 Turkey and Ham are both still frozen. Compromise. Looks like it's going to be Spaggetti
3:00 Clean up the living room and playroom
5:00 Eat dinner. It's simple tonight. I'll make the big dinner tomorrow.
5:50 Attempt a picture around the tree. I tried to take a bunch, but you know how it goes.
6:00 Watch the Polar Express. It has a scratch, and we can't finish it.
7:30 Kids open one present from Aunty Trisha and Uncle Chris. A huge hit!
8:00 It's time for bed. It's still snowing.

Naomi made her teacher the nicest scarf for Christmas. She picked a redish pink color that went well with her teachers jacket. Naomi started the scarf months ago, but put the fininshing toutches on it today. I was really glad she got it finished. Naomi said when she gave it to her teacher she really likes it and wore it for the rest of the day.

Oh Christmas Tree. Oh Christmas Tree.
We took the sleds just up the street and got a Christmas Tree. It's a Blue Spruce I think. About 4.5 feet high, and beautiful. It was a breeze getting it home, but I can't even say what a pain it was putting it into the tree stand. If you have never gotten a Blue Spruce let me tell you it is one of the most sharp pine trees! December 16
For the last 18 days Martin has been in the field training. His work site was not far from the house, but he had to stay there and do whatever it is that they do. Play Army. I think it's like a little mini vacation. Tents. Food. And all your closest friends. Martin insists that is NOT a vacation, but I'm not so sure. Sounds like a vacation if you ask me. So, yesterday was his last day and today he made it to Eyan's school Christmas party. Perfect timing. Eyan was so proud to have his dad there!
(In the picture Martin and Naomi are watching Eyan read a story. I took other pictures, but the lighting was not very good.)

What can one find while cleaning out an eight year old's backpack? Let me tell you. 1 brocken ruler. 2 smashed Oranges. Paper cut into strips. 4 Pencil sharpeners. Granola Bars. Pencil shavings. Clay. A small Cactus. Not even kidding. Half pencils. Erasers. And the list goes on. BUT, for now it's clean....

December 13
In our village we had a Christmas Market and the kindergarten sang a few songs. As you can see from the picture it was cold and we are all bundled up. Silus is in the bright red jacket clapping and Naomi is behind him. Almost every city has a Christmas market, where crafters set up and sell all kinds of stuff. You can also have a glass of the famous Gluwein or all kinds of other treats. Gluwein is a warm spiced wine. (Glow Wine) And you will be glowing after a mug! Did I mention how much I like it?
