Goooeey

Mixing Cornstarch and water creates a really interesting combination of goooo.  It entertained these two little boys for quite some time, and it's super easy to clean up which I love.

Dressing Up

This little guy has been playing "dress up" since I can remember.
 Among his favorite outfits:
  •  Long sleeve shirt with a black suit jacket
  • Mouse hat and mouse tail
  • ACU (camouflage) Jacket
  • Batman suit that's two sizes small
  • Cowboy shirt and hat
  • Pirate shirt with bandanna

But here he is in an old pair of Naomi's glasses (glass taken out) and my cowboy boots, on the wrong feet..... What a kid!

Poppies

When Toben and I walk to Kindergarten we admire all the new flowers springing up.  He was so proud of himself that he could identify Tulips, and Lilacs.  This week he asked the name of the flower just beginning to bloom.  When I told him it was a Poppy he actually laughed out loud and said that was the name of his Opa, which in German is Grandpa.  It was such a sweet moment, you could see his little mind working and translating and getting his own little joke.

Pictures from Toben

Toben grabbed my little Cannon camera and away he went. That poor Camera has seen it's better days, but I still keep it around for emergencies. He took about 20 pictures before the battery went out. Mostly pictures of the floor and Legos. There were also a few close ups of me, but I thought I'd spare you from those. I love that all the out of focus pictures are not wasted on real pictures, and with a simple click they are all erased. Now, if only cleaning up the house were that easy.

Birthday Kid

Toben's birthday was almost a month ago, but our Internet was down for a few weeks and I was never able to put anything up, so here it is.

Toben is 4! His favorite color is green. He loves dressing up. He usually is dressed up in one way or another with a hat, or a Police shirt, and sometimes his "Reit Stiefel" AKA Cowboy boots.

He eats a huge bowl Oatmeal every morning. His request. He also loves juice and drinking anything I have left sitting on the table.

He still crawls in our bed almost every night, and loves to be snuggled. I can hardly believe that Toben is 4. No more diapers, strollers, naps. A new era....

Rolling

There's nothing like rolling down a hill full of crunchy leafs, or watching someone else! Toben went down roll speed, laughing all the way. What sight to be seen.

Christmas In August

Toben asked. Everyday. Many times. I don't know why. Sometimes he gave an answer about why and other times he just pointed out the window. He asked again today. About 20 times. With tears. And when I asked him why, today he said "because it makes me happy".

Why not? It only takes a few minutes to take out the 3 little Christmas trees. Straw ornaments that I had bought on sale at the end of January sitting right on top of the Christmas boxes. Thanks to AOL Radio we even have Christmas music.

And he is happy.

Rock Star

He has a stuffed snake in his hand.

He's swinging it so fast you can't see it in the picture.

He's singing, dancing.

Putting on a great show.

What a Rock Star!

Where did he learn all these moves?

December 22

This is what happens when a 3 year old gets the camera.
I picked the ones that turned out. He can actually take some pretty good pictures.
Not bad for a 3 year old.

NIVIA

Nivia is this lotion that is extremely thick, and can be a little oily. I put it on my hands after I've been cleaning or if they are feeling a bit dry. It works great. It makes your hands so soft and lasts for hours.

So the other day while enjoying a few creative moments in my sewing room I hear giggling and Toben comes in. White hands and and white on one side of his head. Nivia all over. Not so easy to clean up that's for sure. On a side note Toben is softer than ever.

Magic Eraser

At one time I thought that kids who wrote on stuff were just left unattended, or found markers all over the house and wrote on stuff because they saw their other brothers and sisters doing it. That is until Toben came into the picture. This little guy finds markers and crayons like nobodies business! The other kids never wrote all over stuff AND he isn't left for any amount of time that he could do MUCH. Well I guess it doesn't take much. I have to admit that it is harder to keep markers and crayons out of reach at ALL times. BUT that doesn't stop him. He has written on the refrigerator, shelves and the couch just since we have been here. And the Magic Eraser isn't as magic as I thought it was. It won't take the pen off of the couch. Darn it!
