Martin received an email today, and it said something along these lines......

Goooeey
Mixing Cornstarch and water creates a really interesting combination of goooo. It entertained these two little boys for quite some time, and it's super easy to clean up which I love.

Marie-Louise Park
Toben and I took a field trip with his Kindergarten to a beautiful park in Manheim. It was quite exciting because we went with about 50 of the kids and got to ride on a bus. Toben was a great date for the day.
We got to take a boat ride in the rain and see all sorts of turtles, fish and birds. Thankfully our little boat was covered.
You'll notice in the first picture he is standing on rocks and inbetween is water. On our first playground Toben took a little tumble in the water. One of our friends brought extra shorts, and we had extra socks so he only had soggy shoes.
It was a great day together.

Lego Time
Thank goodness someone invented Legos. This summer they have provided endless hours of fun. We have had a few days of warmer weather, but for the most part it's on the chili side.
Silus has on shorts, but NEEDS a light jacket. I can hardly believe that it's the middle of July.

The Newest Taco
Taco Bell just came out with a new Taco. The shell is supposedly out of Doritos. Although they were the color of the Doritos chip, the judges came back with a thumbs down.

Grillfest
We try and make it a point to get together a few times a year, to eat drink and be merry. Basically we had a BBQ, but we call it a "Grill-Fest". What would a grillfest be without good German beer?!
We had to move into someones garage because it started to rain, but that didn't stop us from having fun and hanging out.
It's so wonderful having nice neighbors.

A Light Dessert You'll LOVE!
Birgit's Yoghurt Bomb
Ingredients:
3 bottles of Rama Cremefine (19%) or 3 x 250ml (US: 3 x 8.5 fl oz) of cream
1 kg (US: 2.2 lb) non-flavored low-fat (0.1%) yoghurt
140 g (US: 0.3 lb) sugar
2 packages (15g each) vanilla sugar
Beat the Cremefine or cream until stiff. Add yoghurt, sugar and vanilla sugar. Mix well.
Line a sieve with a clean linen or cotton kitchen towel and place it in
a larger bowl so that there is room around the sieve to catch the
liquids that will get drained. Fill the cream/yoghurt mixture into the
lined sieve and refrigerate for approx. 24 hours. After 12 hours or so,
you may want to check on the setup and discard off any drained liquids
that will have accumulated in the larger outer bowl.
After 24 hours,
turn the bomb out onto a plate and serve with fresh or frozen fruit,
fruit sauce ("Rote Grütze"), eggnog and/or special sweet spices.
This desert always is a big hit wherever I take it - be it a kindergarden party or grandma's birthday! Enjoy!

Swim Lessons
Eyan and Silus are taking swim lessons at out local pool. They can both swim fairly well, but we thought it would be a good idea to have them go and impove the skills they have.
We only have one car at the moment so the boys can just walk just 15 minutes, and then swim for an hour.
I have walked with them and took the opportunity to snap a few shots. I love that we can take a simple walk to the pool and are surrounded by beauty.

Last Day of School
Eyan has been in the same class with the same group of kids and the same teacher since we got here. They have had all kinds of field trips and projects and programs together. This was the last year in the grade school and next year some of them will go to different schools.
On the last day they sang songs and had a ceremony at the local church for graduation.
Amazing to think of how far we've come in the last 3 years here.
