Cake-Day

Silus's class had a great fundraising event earlier this week.  The teacher sent out a note asking for parents to being in cakes, and the class would sell each piece for 50 cents during recess.  His class made about 60 Euro, which is close to $100.  Pretty good for cake.

Silus helped me make rainbow cupcakes the night before, unfortunately we didn't manage to get a picture.

House Shoes

One of the things that I have come to love here are these slippers AKA house shoes.  They are similar to the American slipper, but they are made out of felted wool, I think.  They have no grip or rubber bottom, and are incredibly comfortable.  They are sold for only a few euros, but you can only get them in the fall for a few short weeks.   I like to make them a little more fun to wear by adding little accents to them.

Silus in 2nd Grade

Here's Silus, ready for school.  He likes to get ready and play for a few minutes before he leaves.

Usually his homework is finished at school, but when it's not, Silus works diligently to finish everything.

Slacking

I've been a slacker this week and haven't really taken any pictures or done any posting.  We are still waiting to see exactly how long we will be staying here in Germany, and it's difficult not knowing.  It could be sooner than we originality thought, but whatever happens I JUST WANT TO KNOW.  The waiting game is a hard one,  like a little fly buzzing right in your ear.  I want to shoo it away, but it keeps coming back, loud and annoying.
I think I'm back on track now, and will try posting more this month.
